Life is full of those "last" moments. The last birth. The last diaper. The last time in nursery. This was one of those moments: the last Pinewood Derby. As much as I love the derby, I hate it too. The pressure and stress. The competition. The worry. But then there is the fun. The design. The "making." The racing. Before the racing could begin, the business needed to be taken care of--something the boys didn't really want to worry about.
Once the awards were, well, awarded, it was race time!
Griffin didn't place anywhere "high," but I think he had fun. He can't believe that the Boy Scouts don't do derby cars and is a bit devastated that this part of his life is over. There are bigger and better things to come, but sometimes, it's the little things that make such an impact.
