One of the highlights (OK, THE highlight) of our trip was going to a Phillies game. You see, I've developed this crush on a player named Jayson Werth. On our last trip, we were able to catch a couple of playoff games on the big wall at Chris' house. When the player is the size of a 20-foot ceiling, you can't help but see him up close. It was at that time that we christened him "Werth-ilicious." Truth be told, he's all good looking until he takes off his hat or opens his mouth.
So here we are, at the park (with Chris and Connor), and he's a little speck on the field. But at least we were RIGHT next to the jumbo-tron so I could see home 50-feet tall! It was also great to see the Phanatic. The night was stifling hot and the game was horrible, but all I wanted to see was the bell ring and swing when a Phillie home run was hit. We got that wish x 5 in the last few innings, but still lost the game. To me, it was totally worth the experience. I've never been there before and it was just great to be part of it all.
