The last time Maggie wanted to try out contacts, we were on our way home and in a car crash. She was pretty freaked out and linked "contacts" with "crash."
This year, she decided to give it another whirl. Although difficult to put in, she thought summer was a good time to do it so she didn't have to rush to get them in. After frustration and lots of time accompanied (and a great lesson from her dad with a better way to insert the lens), she has now mastered the contact lens! Tomorrow she gets her actual lenses (she is now test-driving a couple different brands) and we are all very excited for her.
So she's gotten her braces off, switched contacts for glasses, and is turning 16 in 25 days. Watch out world!
